At 1st Steps Housing & Support CIC, we are committed to providing safe, stable and well-managed supported accommodation for vulnerable adults across Hull and the surrounding area.
Our experienced team works alongside residents to promote independence, wellbeing and positive long-term outcomes. We support individuals experiencing homelessness, those recovering from drug and alcohol dependency, ex-offenders and people requiring support to maintain independent living.
We believe that safe housing is the foundation for positive change. Through tailored support plans, practical guidance and partnership working with local agencies, we help residents build confidence, develop life skills and work towards greater independence.
Our team combines over 16 years of supported accommodation experience with strong leadership, governance and property management expertise, ensuring residents receive both quality accommodation and meaningful support.

Javed Iqbal
Managing Director
Javed brings over 25 years of leadership, management and business development experience gained through working with a number of major national and international organisations.
Throughout his career, Javed has managed teams, developed businesses, overseen operational performance and built long-term stakeholder relationships across a range of sectors.
In addition to his corporate background, Javed has successfully operated several businesses and has developed experience within the property sector, including property acquisition, refurbishment, landlord relationships and portfolio management within both the UK and overseas.
As Managing Director of 1ST Steps Housing & Support CIC, Javed is responsible for strategic leadership, governance, compliance, organisational development, landlord partnerships and ensuring the organisation delivers safe, high-quality accommodation and meaningful support services.
Javed is passionate about creating sustainable housing solutions that help vulnerable adults achieve greater independence, stability and positive long-term outcomes.
Lisa Taylor
Support & Referrals Manager
Lisa has over 10 years of experience working within supported accommodation and care environments. She has extensive experience supporting vulnerable adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, people recovering from drug and alcohol dependency and ex-offenders.
Lisa is responsible for referral management, resident assessments, support planning, safeguarding and partnership working with local agencies and stakeholders. She has experience completing support plans, needs assessments, risk assessments, incident reporting and resident reviews.
Lisa holds training in Adult Social Care, Mental Health Awareness, Homelessness Support, Drug & Alcohol Awareness and has attended Supported Accommodation Review Team (SART) training.any name
Danny Taylor
Liaison Manager
Danny has approximately 6 years of experience working within supported accommodation services and has held roles including Support Worker and Assistant Manager.
Danny works closely with residents, referral agencies and partner organisations to ensure effective support delivery and positive outcomes. His experience includes resident engagement, tenancy sustainment, support planning, safeguarding, risk management and multi-agency working.
Danny holds training in Adult Social Care, Mental Health Awareness, Homelessness Support, Drug & Alcohol Awareness and has attended Supported Accommodation Review Team (SART) training.
Danny is committed to helping residents build confidence, develop independent living skills and progress towards long-term stability and independence.
