Working Together To Support Positive Outcomes

At 1st Steps Housing & Support CIC, we believe successful supported accommodation is built on strong partnership working.

We work alongside local authorities, homelessness services, probation services, recovery organisations, mental health services and community partners to provide safe accommodation and meaningful support for vulnerable adults.

Our aim is to work collaboratively with referral agencies to ensure residents receive the right support, at the right time, in the right environment.

Client Groups We Support

We currently support:

  • Individuals experiencing homelessness
  • People recovering from drug and alcohol dependency
  • Ex-offenders requiring accommodation and support
  • Vulnerable adults requiring housing-related support
  • Individuals requiring support to maintain independent living

All referrals are assessed to ensure the accommodation and support available are appropriate to the individual's needs.

Our Support Offer

Residents may receive support with:

  • Housing and tenancy sustainment
  • Independent living skills
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Accessing healthcare services
  • Recovery support
  • Accessing local services and community resources
  • Confidence building and social inclusion
  • Move-on planning

Each resident receives an individual support plan tailored to their needs and goals.

Referral Process

  1. Referral received from agency.
  2. Initial assessment completed.
  3. Risk assessment undertaken.
  4. Suitability review conducted.
  5. Accommodation identified.
  6. Resident move-in and induction.
  7. Support plan implemented.
  8. Regular reviews completed.
